A New Year, A New You: Let's Get Moving!

Have you ever felt stuck in a rut? Tired and sluggish? Perhaps a bit down? If so, you're not alone. Many of us lead sedentary lifestyles, spending countless hours sitting at desks or on couches. But what if I told you that a simple change, like incorporating more movement into your daily routine, could revolutionize your life?

My journey

Last year, I took the plunge and signed up for the C25K program. At 58, I was nervous and unsure, but I was determined to make a change. With each week, I pushed myself a little further, and before I knew it, I was running 5K. The sense of accomplishment was incredible!

In April, I took on the Virtual London Marathon, a challenge that I never thought I'd be capable of. Crossing that virtual finish line was one of the proudest moments of my life. Running has not only improved my physical health but has also had a profound impact on my mental well-being. It's helped me manage stress, boost my mood, and increase my energy levels.

Join the Movement

Inspired by my own journey, I'm starting a Strava group in January. It's a space for people of all fitness levels to come together, support each other, and motivate one another. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just starting out, there's a place for you in this community.

How to Get Started

  • Start small: Begin with short, easy workouts and gradually increase the intensity and duration.
  • Find what you love: Whether it's running, walking, cycling, or yoga, choose activities that you enjoy.
  • Set realistic goals: Break down your goals into smaller, achievable steps.
  • Find a workout buddy: Having a workout partner can help you stay motivated and accountable.
  • Track your progress: Use a fitness tracker or app to monitor your workouts and celebrate your achievements.
