Late last week, I found myself at a crossroads. After suffering a back fracture, my dream of running a full marathon in April had to be put on hold. Disappointed but determined, I knew I needed a new challenge. And so, I signed up for the Great North Run in Newcastle on September 7th.
A half marathon felt like a more achievable goal, one that wouldn't push my body too hard while still providing a sense of accomplishment. Plus, I'm eager to raise money for Sue Ryder, a charity that holds a special place in my heart.
Losing my daughter 15 years ago, I deeply understand the importance of support during times of grief. Sue Ryder provides invaluable care and support to individuals and families facing difficult times, and I'm honoured to contribute to their vital work.
If you'd like to support my run and help make a difference, please visit https://www.justgiving.com/page/maxinekbrown. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help Sue Ryder continue their incredible work.
I'm excited to embark on this new challenge and to honour the memory of my daughter while supporting a cause that is so close to my heart.
I've already created a training plan to keep me on track, and I'm excited to share my progress with you! You can follow along on my YouTube channel: MKB HEALTHY LIVING - Maxine K Brown
I believe having a goal like this really helps to stay focused and motivated. I'll be documenting my training journey and sharing tips along the way. Let's do this!
